Cost per minute

We explain in detail how the "cost per minute" billing is done.

How does this "cost per minute" accounting work?
A full minute is calculated for each started configuration, regardless of whether it is new or has been reopened by a link. After that, the calculation is done to the second until the last change to the configuration. If you only view the 3D model after the last configuration change or zoom and rotate on it, there is no charge for this.

Think of your potential configurator and simply enter the "average configurations per month" and the "average time per configuration" in the configurator below. And you will see the monthly costs. With the slider you have the possibility to increase or decrease the values. Alternatively, you can enter a number directly into the dark blue field.

Frequently asked questions

What are the advantages or disadvantages of "cost per minute" billing?

This billing model is based on the number of configurations actually performed per minute. One advantage of this is that the costs remain low if a newly launched product or company is not yet very well known and the use of the configurator is low at the beginning. When the usage of the configurator increases, the costs also increase accordingly, which pays off when the sales volume increases.

This billing model also takes into account seasonal variations in configurator usage (e.g. summer, winter, spring, Christmas) as well as unexpected national or global economic changes. The costs adjust automatically and are dynamic. The downside is that you don't have predictable fixed costs, but they can stabilize over time.

How is billing done for "cost per minute"?

At least one full minute per configuration is charged. After that, billing is done by the second.

What is the average time my customers spend in the configurator?

Based on our experience, the average time in the configurator for B2C customers is about 2.5 minutes (+/- 1 minute), while for B2B customers it is about 4.5 minutes (+/- 2 minutes).

How many hits can I expect on my configurator?

To get an idea of how many hits you can expect on your configurator, it is a good idea to check the daily number of your web visitors, for example via Google Analytics. However, it should be noted that the actual number of visitors may be higher, since visitors who reject the Google Analytics cookie are not recorded. In addition, the number of hits depends heavily on how prominently the configurator is placed on your website. For example, if it is easily accessible on the home page, the number of hits may be higher than if it is difficult to find.

Do I pay if customers do not close the configuration?

If the customer does not perform any further action after the last interaction in the configurator and the configuration remains open in a browser window, this will not be charged.
